WHAT DO WE NEED RIGHT NOW?

In Tondo, Manila

Every week we have feeding programs held on Wednesdays and Fridays. This allows us to reach about more than a thousand people every week through food distribution. Aside from this, every month we have an event just for the children of the Smokey Mountain community where about 400 to 500 of them join. On top of this, we have fun activities, games and special presentations for them and we take the time to share Jesus with them.

On a daily basis, we have the pre-school in our small building in Tondo and a daycare center wherein parents, who need to work throughout the day, can bring their kids there to be taken care of for free. As for the parents, we hold livelihood programs for them to help equip them with more ways in earning money to provide for their family aside from scavenging. We also offer micro financing to those who are willing to make the extra step in making a better living for their family. Parents can put up small retail businesses to earn better money.

Malnourishment is also an issue in the slums community of Tondo as well as Pneumonia and Tuberculosis. Because of this, we have programs that deal with these issues and they are for free.

All these work that we have in the slums of Manila are made possible because of the support we receive from friends and partners we have but there is so much more work to do and  we would like to invite you to partner with us through volunteering. Please send an e-mail to volunteers@vhicf.org if you are moved to take the challenge.

In Antipolo & Morong

Poverty affects not just the economy of the Philippines but most essentially the people of it. Because of it, there are babies and kids who become victims of abandonment, rejection and illegal trafficking–this is what Vision Help wants to aid in.

Our two locations called House of Hope in Antipolo and Village of Hope in Morong, we have facilities that enable us to take in and welcome children who were in unimaginable situations in the streets and impoverished communities. We have orphans and foundlings who were abandoned and/or rejected by their own families. We also take care of kids who could not be provided for by their own families so they give them over to us to be looked after.

For half a decade, our work in our children’s homes are made possible because of the support we receive from friends and partners we have but there is so much more work to do and  we would like to invite you to partner with us through volunteering.

In both places, we needs hands and feet to help us tend to the children’s needs and we need hearts to let them know that they are valued, cared for and worthy of love despite what they have gone through. Please send an e-mail to volunteers@vhicf.org if you are moved to take the challenge.
