The roads were clear and we passed by checkpoints smoothly. It took us only 2 hours to travel from Village of Hope to our Day-Care & Pre-School Center from the usual 4 hours of drive.
Upon arrival, we setup the place and distributed rice to families one at a time. And since there is a strict rule on social distancing during this lockdown, we could not prolong our interaction with them.
We are glad that we can do even a little for these families. The situation in the slums is the worst there can be–but we are hoping for better days and we thank you for making this possible.
Aside from this, we are grateful to God for timing our distribution perfectly because we found out that by the next day, the local government will be restricting families who live on the Smokey Mountain to go out and down of it.
We are yet to find out how their needs would be supplied. Please pray with us for the welfare of these families who are hard-hit by our current situation.
